Hi I'm Keith of Keith J Smith Photography it's nice to meet you, I'm a Northampton based photographer and I'm passionate about my photography and hopes it shows in the images I take. For me it's all about capturing a moment in time never to be repeated, whether it's a smile or look in a portrait or an animal movement.

My passion in photography is Portraiture in the studio or on location but I am proficient in all aspects of photography large and small including studio or location work. A large number of my images have been published in National Editorials, The Australian Financial Review, Daily Telegraph, Express, Mail Online, Photographic and Bird watching magazines.
I have the images on this website plus over 35,000 images on the Alamy Stock Agency a link is available on the links page so you can browse through the collection. Prints and canvases can be supplied of most of these images.
When out taking photos I try to live up to a saying I once heard.
Take only Pictures. - Leave only Footprints. - Kill only Time.
Portrait Photography
Portraiture Is one of my main passions. I enjoy interacting with people and capturing the best images of the person in front of the camera. I also enjoy working with young people with special needs and disabilities and get great satisfaction from bringing the best of their personalities out in the photographs I take, there is never any rush i take as long as is needed to get the images were looking form. I'm also DBS Certified, my goal is to capture something deeper than just the exterior of a person, sometimes this results in dark moody image or a brightly lit one. I take portraits in the studio with a black or white backdrop or on a location of the client’s choice.

Landscape and Travel Photography.
Travel is another passion of mine and I love to capture interesting places and people in the locations we visit at home or abroad. I love looking into other people’s culture and capturing it in a image anywhere worldwide, two of my favourite places to visit if I was having to choose is Mumbai in India and Ho Chin Me City in Vietnam, (which was Saigon on my first visit), both such fascinating places and people, places I never fail to get good interesting images.

Still Life in the Studio Photography.
I have a studio setup where most objects if not overly large can be photographed, a few of the smaller items photographed are in my portfolio Studio-still-life. Pet and Dog Photography.
Pets, especially dogs are another aspect of photography I enjoy whether it’s a portrait in the studio or action shot on location it’s all about a moment of time captured forever. Some people say never work with children and animals, but these are two of my favourite types of subject and with patience, good results are obtained. It’s all a matter of taking your time and not rushing, I spend as long as I need to get the right images for my clients to truly capture their pet’s personality. Reptiles Photography.
Reptiles are interesting subjects to photograph whether it’s a 4ft Lizard, 12ft Burmese Python or a small stick insect. I have photographed reptiles on several occasions in the studio on a white background for client’s and found each session interesting and exciting depending on the reptile involved.
